Winter Party in Żabi Dwór

The carnival ball is our Metapack tradition. This time we had fun in Żabi Dwór, and we managed to adapt our party theme to the interior of this beautiful place.

Masquerade and royal court

What was the dress code during the event? See what information hit each Metapacker a few weeks before the event:

I cordially invite you to the Masquerade in the royal court! :) Yes, yes, this year the leitmotif of our event will be the atmosphere of the royal court of Louis XVI combined with the atmosphere of masked balls taking place on royal estates around the world.

Competition for the best costume

This news caused a storm in our ranks. The search for perfect costumes, looking for inspiration, phone calls to relatives and friends who can borrow something began. After all, there is a costume contest at every fancy dress party.

Effect? Masks, prom dresses, wigs, jabots – we really stood up to the task. Wojtek, who is an analyst in the development team, won the main prize in the competition. Do you still think IT geeks have no imagination?

Official summary of 2019

The event was also an opportunity for summaries. A short presentation about what we achieved in 2019 was prepared by representatives of the HR, G&A and Technology teams: Kasia, Kasia, Łukasz, Patrycja. They talked about team integrations, charity campaigns, cooperation with the University of Zielona Góra, sports activities, activities undertaken as part of Employer Branding, reorganization of the Software Engineering department.

The end of year peak that passed without any problems was also mentioned. We congratulated ourselves on completing many important projects, incl. SOX, Okta, Akamai. All this thanks to teamwork and the commitment of every Metapacker.

Dancing, casino, competitions

After the presentation, we sat down to dinner and then the real fun began. There were dances, games and fun, as well as a casino where everyone could try their hand at playing black jack, poker or roulette. You could also take crazy photos as souvenirs in the photo booth.

Metapackers – always eager to compete – took part in competitions, for example, guessing movie titles. Fragments of paintings were displayed on the large screen, and the teams at tables pressed buttons and guessed the titles.
