We’re constantly developing and challenging ourselves. Interview with Oliwia from the Requirements Analysts team

Each of our employees faces an enormous challenge in acquiring a large dose of knowledge. Oliwia, who is the first link in the courier integration process, knows it very well. In a short conversation, she talks about what learning at AUCTANE looks like and how we try to provide new people with the greatest possible comfort in this area.
Olivia, what do you do at AUCTANE?
I am responsible for courier integrations, and above all for the requirements related to them, because I work in the Requirements Analyst team. So we get to know the requirements of couriers, which allow development teams to efficiently and quickly carry out courier integration with our product.
This is a responsible task and you certainly do not lack challenges. What difficulties do you face in your team?
After a year of work, I can say that the biggest challenge is to work out the details because sometimes it seems that we already know everything, we already have everything, and then it turns out that we missed something and need to correct it, clarify it. But these are such fun challenges because we learn something new all the time. This is why today I can say that I like my job and I like it more and more.

You’ve been working for a year, but do you remember the beginning when you were learning duties? How long does this process take?
This is continuous development, and continuous work, in fact, even if you feel that you already know a lot and have lots of skills, you still face new challenges. There are always new things that come out somewhere in the process. And there’s really a lot of it. This is a large knowledge base, a large courier base, and a large base of typical company knowledge, which we work on and learn. We know that we will never know everything. But we need to know where to find the knowledge we need at the moment.
Do you already feel a significant difference in your knowledge from a few months ago?
The difference is that now I know what I don’t know yet (laughs). At first, I just didn’t know anything. Now I know that there are still many things I need to learn.
You joined the team when we were going through a big change. How did you find yourself in such a dynamic environment?
From my perspective, the change from Metapack to AUCTANE was not very big, because we as a team, as RA, are still working on practically the same thing we were working on before. Although there is a new challenge because we started working on a new project to improve the transfer of information and it’s a nice challenge. But I can see that I can develop a lot here in the company, among other things, because the company is growing, somewhere there are always some new things, things that allow us to acquire new knowledge and new skills.

Apart from exploring your daily duties, does AUCTANE give you the opportunity to develop your knowledge in other ways?
We have a nice e-learning platform. We can use it, we can do various types of courses depending on what our needs and interests are. The second thing is the support of the RA teams, which really gives a lot because these are people who have been working here much longer than me, so they have a lot of knowledge and every time I have a problem there is something I can’t find, I know that I can turn to them for help. And if I don’t find help directly with them, they’ll be able to tell me who to look for, so that’s really cool too. And of course, there are courses. If you want to start one, that’s not a problem either.
You say the learning process at AUCTANE never ends. Is there anything that you would advise to someone who is new to us or is planning to join us, but the thought of having to learn so much might scare them?
Certainly not to give up. Because the fact that there is a lot of learning at the beginning and many things that you don’t know, don’t understand, and can’t do, doesn’t mean that in six months it will be the same. In half a year, there may of course still be a lot of things that you do not know or understand, but in retrospect, I know that after only a few months my knowledge grew really fast. At first, I didn’t know anything, I came here knowing only what company I work for, and thanks to the fact that I had support, and that there are opportunities for development, we have very good contact within the team, with team leaders, there is no way that someone who wants to learn has not been able to do so. And that’s just cool.
In short: if you’re willing, you can do it. Thank you for the interview.
