Peak Counter 2019

This year’s sales peak was an opportunity for us to take on another challenge. The result is a new generation Peak Counter that helped us count orders during the hottest weekend in our industry. See how it was created.
Peak Counter 2.0 is the work of our engineers – Łukasz and Marcin. Their first invention showed us the daily number of orders placed by our systems on the yellow DHL bus. The vehicle drove along a wooden beam with each order placed.
See what our first counter looked like:
This year the guys decided to create a completely new generation device. This is how Peak Counter number two was created, using recovered elements: used smartphones, electronics and an equally important element – a wooden board. Our engineers have made every effort to purchase as few parts of the device as possible, and focus primarily on recycling.
They also engaged other team members and engineers from Metapack’s London headquarters to create the device. What did they need such a large team for? See the video where we documented all stages of work:
There were some obstacles along the way. Not all the phones worked, and one of them was infected with virus and threatened the results of all work. Fortunately, all crises were resolved quickly.
The guys approached the challenge as another project: they created documentation, drawings, and wrote the code based on our Metapack technologies. The invention premiered at our Thanksgiving Lunch last Thursday.
