Metapack for homeless animals!

Marzena, sensitive to the needs of homeless animals, decided to make sure that this year’s charity campaign broke last year’s records. Do you want to join the action? Read a short interview with Marzena and find out how you can help cats and dogs from the shelter.

Marzena, where did you get the idea and why did you run this campaign in Metapack?

The idea was actually born because I love animals. I know that such initiatives for animals have been taking place in the shelter for years, especially in this autumn and winter period, when they’re especially needed. The shelter is an institution that doesn’t have the money to provide animals with the conditions they deserve.

This initiative has already been organized here last year. This year I decided to take matters into my own hands. I found all the data I need on the shelter’s website. Patrycja and Adam helped me by preparing two posters. On Patrycja’s poster you can see exactly what the shelter needs, everything is illustrated in such a way that it is easier and faster to reach people than in a long company e-mail.

How is the action going so far? Do you already know if you managed to break the record from last year?

No, I don’t have a comparison yet. We ran out of electricity on Friday, so I decided to take this opportunity to walk around the offices with the can. I didn’t have posters yet, but I already had a can, and due to the lack of electricity, I couldn’t work anyway. On that day, I managed to collect about PLN 370 in two hours.

Apart from money, you can also donate necessary things for pets?

Yes, everything that is mentioned on the poster, i.e. blankets, towels, quilts, playpens, hygiene mats, long leashes, thick harnesses, hot water bottles, high-quality wet food, Frolic delicacies.

Are you a dog or other pet owner?

No, I don’t have any pets. The kids talk me into a dog or a cat. I love dogs myself and I would like to have my own, but I just don’t have the conditions for it. Due to extracurricular activities with kids, I have too little time. I would not like to hurt my pet and make it sit alone at home.

How do you rate the involvement of Metapackers in the campaign? Are they up to the task?

Some were very interested even at the stage of wrapping the can, they asked what it was, then there were no posters or any information. Some people already wanted to throw in donations, saying they were happy to help. Others said they didn’t have change, so I announced that I would find them on Monday (laughs).

How long is this initiative going to last?

In the shelter the action lasts until December 15, and you can bring your donations until December 21. Because the 15th is Sunday, I decided that our foundraising will last until Friday, and on Friday or Monday I will pack everything and take it to the shelter. With the money collected, I plan to buy the necessary things. We have a colleague whose wife works as a vet at the shelter. As soon as he got my e-mail, he contacted me immediately and said what would be needed for sure. He also sends me information on a regular basis.
